The United States Air Force introduced the F-104 Starfighter to the world in February, 1958. The "G" variant offered upgraded avionics and increased fuel capacity, along with larger tires and revised flaps for improved maneuverability. Demand from multiple European N.A.T.O. countries led to an increase in the F-104G Starfighter's production during the 1970s.
